“I am 60 yrs. old. Today is Jan. 31, 2012, and 6 months ago, July 20, 2011, I had an RSR (Reverse Shoulder Replacement) by Dr. Mark Stewart. I've had multiple rotator cuff tears and surgery to repair them, however, with another huge tear, which could not be repaired again, a Reverse Shoulder Replacement was the option I chose to have a normal life. My right shoulder RSR has left me with very little to no discomfort or pain!!!!!! When asked about this shoulder surgery, I smile and explain "I would do it again without hesitation".

Physical Therapy seemed much easier than a rotator cuff repair, as protocal for the RSR, dictates that PT shouldn't start for 6 weeks post-op, then its an easy transition to active range of motion. Following the RSR PT protocol proved to be an exceptional treatment plan for me.

In the past Dr. Stewart has performed my cage fusion, and my multiple rotator cuff tear repairs. I trust his expertise completely and will continue to present any orthopedic needs, I have in the future, to him.

“On August 13, 2009 I was t-boned in an intersection on my motorcycle. I broke my left arm and my left tibia and fibula. My bone was sticking out of my leg. Dr. Stewart did surgery and put an external fixator on my leg. I had two different types of external fixators on my leg for about a year. 20 months after the accident I returned to work full time, 7 days a week for 8-12 hours a day with no restrictions. My job requires climbing 20ft. ladders, and I have had no problems climbing them throughout the day.

In the past 3 weeks I am pain free with almost complete function of my leg. Thanks to Dr. Stewart I am able to do all the things I enjoyed doing prior to my accident hunting, trapping and walking.”

“I had surgery January 6, 2012 to replace my arthritic joint in my right hand. I suffered with pain for 3 yrs. When I awoke from surgery, the first thing I noticed was there was 'no pain'. thinking it was the anesthetic doing its' job, I continued with the pain pills the following day as prescribed just to make sure I wasn't going to feel anything. I took myself off the pain meds and waited for them to wear off and meet the devil. Guess what? I never had any pain. None whatsoever! I don't believe I needed to take the meds the following day. Exactly 34 days after surgery, the cast removed. The normal stiffness but still no pain. My wrist is tender, but Iâm working on rebuilding that strength. I couldn't be happier. I have symptoms in my left thumb as well. When the time comes, Dr. M. Stewart will be 'fixing' that one as well. Thank you for giving me my life back!”

“Prior to surgery I was getting injections in my shoulder to help with the pain. It did not help much with the motion or ability to lift anything. After about 6 months the injections stopped helping with the pain so I decided to have Rotator Cuff surgery. Iâve been taking it easy around the house and only doing passive motion exercises in therapy but Iâm pain free. My physical therapist is very impressed with my results.”

My older brother had his knee replaced by a Dr. in western New York and had nothing but trouble with it, infection set in and he was within hours of loosing his leg.
